Trawlers dwarfed by rig supply vessels at Commercial Quay. Prior to the arrival of the oil industry, Aberdeen was the major fishing port in north-east Scotland. There are now only remnants of the fishing industry due both to the repurposing of the port as well as increased restrictions on fishing.
